With the change in the FIA regulations for Group N cars, the internal parts of the gearbox and the differential gear ratios can be modified as of January 1, 2001. This change in regulations has allowed us to develop, in cooperation with Ralliart, a gearbox that has been homologated for Group N as an option variant for the Lancer Evo. This new gearbox for the Group N Lancer Evolution is not only lighter and more durable, but offers a quicker gearchange. Its combined merits will inevitably make the car still more competitive. The gearbox will consist of the dog-engagement gear kit, clutches and shift linkage. The gears and clutches are manufactured by Hewland. The gearbox unit for the Lancer Evolution V,VI and VII model has already been homologated by the FIA in accordance with the variant option.
