Specification:
The ultimate transmission for small single seat cars, that require the latest technology.

Hewland Engineering is proud to introduce the new JFR gearbox, designed to suit the high-quality end of the small racing car market. With a torque capacity of up to 240 lb.ft and legendary performance, JFR will be the crowning glory of any small racing car.

JFR is a `smaller sibling` to the highly successful and prolific FTR transaxle (as used in F3, F.BMW, Star Mazda and elsewhere). For those unfamiliar with FTR, please see:  www.hewland.com/svga/productrange/ftr.htm

Effectively, `JFR is an FTR`, but features 5 speeds and a simpler casing design, without the engine oil tank. (It has a front face that will retro fit to an LD 200 mounting). Consequently JFR has all the quality and reliability that makes FTR so successful, but in a shorter, lighter, less expensive form. It remains sequential shift, with a choice of Free or Powerflow limited slip differentials.

A six speed, JFR6, is also available. This is precisely an FTR, but with the simpler JFR main casing. Radical SR8 will be the first car to use this version, in late 2005.

Normal Use: Radical SR8 - Late 2005. Any small racing car.
Recommended max. engine torque: 240 lb.ft=33 kg.m
Weight: 36kg. Estimated.
Casing material: Thin wall aluminium alloy.
Lubrication: Splash.
Differential: Powerflow, or Free.
Gear Selection: Sequential 5 Speed
Gearing Options: FTR; Click HEREto see ratio list.
