Century Anybody who has not experienced or visited Hewland Engineering in recent years will probably have a very inaccurate and outdated picture of the company. In the early 1990's Hewland was a company that lacked a modern facility and outlook. All that was set to change! A multi year programme of company advancement was started in 1993, with a search for new premises. By September 1997, Hewland had moved into the new purpose built building that it presently occupies. By the end of year 2000, Hewland Engineering had spent over £8,000,000 on its modernisation. A machine shop packed with new CNC machinery was complemented by new staff and methods of project management. 2001 saw the first year of the present Hewland management structure, whereby the top of the company is run by a team of specialists answering to MD William Hewland. (See key personnel) 2002 was a year that showed how the industry has accepted the new era at Hewland. 45 years after the company was formed by Mike Hewland, more and more prestigious clients placed their work with the oldest name in the business.
