Founded by Mike Hewland in 1957, it is the company that invented the bespoke racing car gearbox and it has supplied the worlds racing car constructors ever since. 

Hewland is a brand name first made famous in the sixties and seventies; but is now enhanced by today's wider range of exciting products. Hewland Engineering is the only company in the world that supplies racing gearboxes to virtually all levels of the sport. 

Our standard product range expanded hugely in later years, but even this has been over-shadowed by the massive amount of specialised designs for Rally, GT, Touring Car, Sportscar and ‘single- seat’ customers. Tailor made, cost sensitive gearboxes are our greatest speciality nowadays. Design and quality is foremost, at our purpose built facility at White Waltham in Berkshire, England.
